About Me

Hi, I’m Elliot (a.k.a. Obscura or Obscura_creatrix), and I’m a visual artist and live event production specialist. My work explores the darker, raw emotions that are often left buried beneath the surface—emotions like fear, hate, isolation, and the intense conflicts we often try to avoid. Through my art, I invite viewers to confront these feelings head-on, creating a space where vulnerability and discomfort are not only acknowledged but embraced.

In my project Liminal Spaces, I create environments designed to evoke feelings of unease and introspection. These aren’t just places to look at—they’re spaces that pull you into the emotional chaos of internal conflict, loss, and disconnection. It’s about making people sit with the uncomfortable, sometimes even confronting the parts of ourselves we’re afraid to face.

My analog horror work is all about disruption. I use the distortion of outdated technology—warped visuals, glitchy sounds, unsettling imagery—to evoke not just fear, but hate too. It’s not about simple scares; it’s about triggering that primal emotion of anger, frustration, and confusion that often accompanies the unknown. Through this work, I want to expose the things we fear and hate most, and show how those emotions can be as powerful and meaningful as any other.

In my VJ loops, I create abstract visuals that intertwine with music to take viewers on a journey through emotional chaos. The work isn’t just there to fill the space—it’s there to make you feel something. I’m not interested in comforting or distracting you; I want to bring you face-to-face with the complex emotions that often go unspoken: hate, rage, sadness, and the overwhelming sense of internal conflict.

My interactive visuals break down the barrier between the artwork and the audience. The way the work shifts depending on your presence makes the experience unpredictable and, at times, even uncomfortable. It’s about creating a dynamic that forces you to engage with your own emotional triggers—the anger, frustration, and sometimes helplessness that come from encountering chaos. The art evolves with you, and that creates a personal, raw experience.

Through all of my work, I dive into the emotions that are often left unexplored: fear, hate, sadness, and all the difficult feelings we try to avoid. For me, art isn’t about evading these emotions—it’s about exposing them and confronting the uncomfortable truths of what it means to be human. When you engage with my work, I want you to feel something real, something that pushes you to reckon with the parts of yourself and the world that often remain in the dark.
